Artist’s apron – Chromograph Ltd. Wolverhampton

I thought I’d share the apron I wore as an Studio Artist at Chromograph Ltd., hand-embellishing limited edition DeMontfort Fine Art prints.

The relief you can see is acrylic gel, which was applied with a palette knife and gave the raised quality to prints by artists such as Emilija Pasagic, and there’s still gold leaf and gold ink from the prints we worked on by artists like Charlotte Atkinson amongst many others.

Unfortunately Chromograph Ltd. went into liquidation c. 2004, and the few embellishing artists that were still working there managed to salvage an apron each. I think mine’s a work of art in itself. Maybe I should frame it?
